This 6 October 2006, Singapore Airlines brings the mid-autumn festival to you with a specially created “contemporary mooncake” treat.
Customers travelling on Singapore Airlines flights between Singapore and Bangkok, Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taipei, Shanghai, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City will each be presented with this dessert.
Given a modern twist by the Airline’s chefs, the special dessert creations include a snowskin lotus paste mooncake, served with pomelo jelly, fruits and vanilla sauce; and a traditional mooncake complemented with pomelo jelly.
So come, celebrate this Mid-Autumn Festival with Singapore Airlines!
Editor’s Note:
Traditionally, the moon is believed to be at its brightest and fullest on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Lunar calendar. Celebrated as the Mid-Autumn festival, it is one of the most important festivals for the Chinese. The full moon symbolizes harmony and togetherness in the family, and mooncakes, traditional Chinese pastries filled with lotus paste, are eaten to celebrate this.
