The famous list, which will develop into a trade agreement between the European Commission and China, has named Scottish Salmon as one of the most prestigious foods of Europe.
To be present on this list, will most probably be an excellent opportunity for the Scottish fish to boost and increase wider trade agreements and markets in the Far East. To be listed in this selection of European foods creates new business possibilities of the products in China, and in the same way, ten Chinese foods will be allowed to be sold in between the borders of the European Commission.
Some of the most appreciated foods of this lists include Parma Ham, Roquefort Cheese, Yancheng Crayfish and Guanxi Honey Pomelo, a citrus fruit.
One of the main aim of these listings and trade exchanges is to protect foods that are linked to the area where they are produced. The ten European products have been chosen among a wider list of 750 Protected Geographic Indication status by the European Commission. SOURCE: Sunday Herald
